I read an article today, saying about a sperm donor who technically has 150 children born to 150 mothers. sounds interesting. but what really caught my eye was, the chances of accidental incest between these half sisters and half brothers.
i don't want to comment on what's right n what's wrong or what's incest n what's not. i just want YOUR views on this, don't give views on behalf of the society crap. say what u think about it.

i guess as long as you dont know about it, its not incest ... why would it be ... i mean genetically i guess to some level, but then most of us all are some percentage brothers and sisters ... genghis khan , ring any bells ?? hehe, anyways its really weird to think about this issue in this way , i mean the sperm donation firms too might have some procedure for avoiding such incidents , secrecy or some optimal system to minimize chances to accidental incest ... this is a very highly unlikely probabilistic scenario. even if it happens, no one will be knowing about it (unless the people marrying each other know about the relation, by god, then its incest for sure).
ReplyDeleteyaa Genghis Khan, heheheh no wonder our pledge says "all Indians are my brothers n sisters". well, ofcrse if people are not aware about the blood relation it still might be acceptable, but what about the genetic diseases and disorders which might happen to the offsprings of such couples. actually it reminded me of one of the episodes from X-files ,so i ws concerned.
ReplyDeletewell, that might have greater chances of occurrence if other people didnt mingle among us ... but they did, mongols, muslims, tibetians, iranians, greeks, so many ... i guess that saved us from being extinct ... look at all the conservative civilizations of the past ... may be incas, mayans and aztecs (apart from spanish attacks) were wiped out due to that ... coz they were isolated with very less cultural interaction with the outside world
